Patricia Ivanisevic isn’t really sure when she started crafting. Her mother was a seamstress and a tailor, so she grew up surrounded by yarn and fabric. Whilst living in Argentina, she got her first Barbie but there were no clothes available. Using her mother’s scraps, she knit, crocheted and sewed fabulous fashions for Barbie. She felt the magic of creating something from a little stringy thing (aka yarn) and the rest is history!
She admits that she’s a geek in disguise and that most people are really surprised by that. Hmm. Geek + creative= Yes, it’s possible!
At the moment, Patricia takes inspiration from colors that speak to her. In the past, it may have been an object, shape or image that spoke to her to be recreated from yarn.
Here are a few of her favorite designs:
I’m always curious what other artist’s work spaces are like. My studio is filled with creative clutter (hey, I make it work!). Patricia is in the process of organizing everything and says she works in chaos! Hmm, this looks pretty neat & tidy to me. She works in several spaces and says the only place she doesn’t work from is the bathroom!

This is a great write-up! I’ve known Patricia for a little over a year now, but I had no idea she was a Barbie designer.
Love the sneak-peek into her workspace.
I love the fact she was willing to share. Mine is always in a state of chaos (or so it seems).
Just a comment: it looks pretty tidy and neat because I’m trying to organize, that yarn was all over the place, I still have 4 more those containers and the rest is a disaster. Maybe next year.. LOL
I’ve been trying to organize my sewing/glass/beading/metals area for 6 months and I keep getting side-tracked by creativity!
Maybe by the end of the year, I’ll have a tidy corner like you (or NOT!).
