Last week, my daughter and I went to the Dallas Museum of Art to see the exhibit “TUTANKHAMUN AND THE GOLDEN AGE OF THE PHARAOH”.
My daughter and I both were in awe of the hand carved hieroglyphics & enjoyed learning about the different symbols.
Blue Sun Disc
Ancient Egyptians believed the Sun God, Ra, to be self created and the creator of all other things. I created my own version of the “sun disc” by casting various shades of blue glass to create depth and movement. I also embedded a 5mm round clear cubic zirconium (my version of the rays of sunlight). The fused glass pendant is finished with a sterling silver jump ring.
