Glass+art clay+kiln+hammer=one of a kind

I had just a little art clay left over from my Saul Bell entry that I’ve been saving for something special. At 2 am, I woke up because I dreamed of a cool blue volcano design. After one cup of java, I was ready to hit the studio (well, more like a shuffle) and make my dream a reality.

I rolled out the art clay into an irregular shape and used my heat torch to dry it out. Once it was dry, I fired up the torch to magically turn it into fine silver. I then brushed it and hand hammered it. I had to file the edges after hammering. I then took art clay in a syringe and created a triangular shape and placed layers of art glass inside the shape. Using a teflon tipped brush, I textured clay and placed 3 funky shaped tabs into the clay. All of this went into the kiln-and out came the fine silver and glass pendant.I folded down the tabs over the glass and did a final polish.  I riveted a piece of hand hammered sterling silver to create the bail and voila here is my cool blue volcano pendant :
